📢 𝐂𝐅𝐌 𝐒𝐮𝐛-𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐩𝐭-𝐈𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧31 July 2026 | Cyberjaya, Selangor - CFM successfully hosted the Sub-Code on Opt-In Requirements Industry Adoption Session in a hybrid format, bringing together telecommunications service providers and industry stakeholders to discuss the implementation and adoption of the Sub-Code on Opt-In Requirements.The session was attended by CFM Chief Executive Officer, Puan Norina Yahya, together with representatives from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), including Encik Alif Jamil, Director of the Consumer Protection Department, who received updates on the progress of the Sub-Code and its implementation across the industry.💬 Participants were briefed on the key requirements of the Sub-Code, which strengthens consumer protection by ensuring that explicit consent is obtained before service providers:📱 Auto-migrate a service plan➕ Activate Value-Added Services (VAS)🌍 Enable Data Roaming ServicesThe session also covered key implementation requirements, including the prohibition of pre-ticked consent boxes, the use of clear and easy-to-understand language, secure authentication through OTP or CAPTCHA, timely renewal reminders, and giving consumers the flexibility to opt out at any time with immediate cessation of billing.🤝 CFM appreciates the active participation and commitment shown by telecommunications service providers throughout the session. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community, answer questions, and encourage safer digital habits.​CFM Chief Executive Officer, Puan Norina Yahya, also delivered an interactive sharing session on staying safe in today's digital environment. 🤝 𝐂𝐅𝐌 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐊𝐑𝐀𝐁 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐤 @ 𝐄𝐫𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥25 July 2026 | Bangi, Selangor – As part of the CFM De Tour 2026: 25 Years with Consumers initiative, CFM continued its nationwide outreach through the AKRAB Pengguna Bijak @ Era Digital programme. Organised in collaboration with Majlis Akrab Kebangsaan, one of CFM's valued CFM Rangers, the programme brought together partners with a shared goal of promoting digital literacy and consumer awareness.The programme commenced with a welcoming remark by Puan Noor Mazni Khosim, Assistant Secretary of Majlis Akrab Kebangsaan. CFM was also honoured to have Ms. Yap Yoke Har, Chairperson of CFM, who represented the Malaysian Mobile Technology Association (MMTA) in a sharing session on messaging scams. Participants gained practical insights into recognising common scam tactics and how to better protect themselves in today's digital world.CFM also shared its role in handling consumer complaints related to communications and multimedia services, particularly non-network services, while highlighting the General Consumer Code (GCC) and the latest updates on the Opt-In, Opt-Out Sub-Code to help consumers better understand their rights and protections.The programme also featured an engaging session by the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF), covering digital content safety, responsible online engagement, and ways to create a safer digital environment for everyone.
